There has to be another way – Dr. Melanie Salmon would repeat, returning from a day’s work at a nearby clinic, – There must be some way to help patients faster and more effectively. During her 40 years of clinical practice and 15 years as a Gestalt psychotherapist, she has met patients suffering from illnesses caused by the stress of everyday life on an almost daily basis. Many of them have struggled with recurring problems over the years, and medications and long-term talking therapies have often proved to be only partially helpful or even ineffective. Growing helplessness and frustration made her look for the most effective treatment. After years of exploring, analyzing and practicing, she created a new method – Quantum Energy Coaching, which helps us free ourselves from past traumas, excessive stress and the effects of limiting beliefs.

My journey to QEC

I first encountered QEC in 2018. At that time, I was finishing the TRE® course, and Dr. Melanie Salmon, a medical doctor, Gestalt psychotherapist and  trauma expert (at the time also a TRE® Provider with many years of experience), came to Poland for one of the training courses on working with child trauma. It was one of the best trainings I have attended and one of the greatest people I have met. A few months later, we met again, this time at a conference on child trauma, where Dr. Melanie gave a lecture and a workshop on the proprietary QEC method. From the very first moments, I was inspired by her work, her thoughts, and the method she had created based on her many years of experience. I dedicated the following years of my work to the TRE® and EFT methods, and Dr. Melanie to her QEC method. Our paths met again in 2021, this time during the QEC coaching course. From the beginning, I felt that this method represented the end of a certain stage in my professional and personal research. And although I am still following this path, today I invite you to a fascinating journey into the world of QEC.

By using the QEC method, we are able to regain balance in our autonomic nervous system and change belief systems and conditions that no longer serve us. In this way, we can fundamentally change the way we think about ourselves and the world around us, releasing stored trauma and stress from our minds and bodies.

What is QEC?

QEC is a simple and effective method that combines elements of Gestalt psychotherapy with the latest discoveries in the field of neuroscience. Working on a subconscious level, we use the neuroplasticity of the brain to break free from limiting belief systems, heal past traumas, and change non-functional patterns of behavior. New positive beliefs immediately and permanently replace the old, limiting ones. The client is fully aware at all times and the process is quick, easy and effortless.

Where it all began?

It all started with the groundbreaking work of Dr. Bruce Lipton and his book The Biology of Beliefs. He has shown scientifically that the basis of most of the ailments we experience is negative, limiting thinking (read more in the book Biology of Beliefs). According to his theory, we are not controlled by our genes, but largely by an “external” environment outside our cell (epigenetic influences) – of which our thoughts are the most powerful. As Lipton used to say, “If we want to make lasting changes in our lives, we must find methods that will change our thinking on the subconscious level of our mind.” This sentence gave the impetus  for Dr. Melanie Salmon to search further.

Why is the subconscious mind so important?

The subconscious mind is the part of the brain that acts as an autopilot for our bodies. Our deeply held beliefs stem from our subconscious. No matter how much we tell ourselves  not to be afraid of dogs or public speaking, encountering these stimuli will automatically trigger a stress reaction if we have previously had negative experiences related to this type of situation.

In traditional psychological work, we often use our conscious mind, hoping for an understanding that will help us change certain patterns or behaviors. But did you know that our conscious mind only controls about 3-5% of our lives (our thoughts, decisions, behaviors, reactions) and 95-97% of our lives come from the programming of our subconscious? Our conscious mind can only process 40 bits of information per second, while the subconscious mind can process  20,000,000 bits of information per second. So the subconscious mind can process 500,000 times more what the conscious mind is able to. Therefore, it reacts immediately in every situation, leaving no room for “rational assessment”.

Everything we experience in the course of our lives, whether good or bad, remains imprinted on us. Everything that has happened to us in the past has shaped us into the special people we are now. All past experiences have created our fundamental beliefs and truths about who we are, what people are like, and what the world around us is like. All these “programs” are stored in our subconscious and are activated automatically when the need arises.

Our past directly influences the way we see, feel and act today in all areas of our lives – at home, at work, in our relationships with ourselves and with others. And as you may have guessed, the impact can be beautiful and positive,  but also difficult and limiting.

If we want to make permanent changes in our lives, we need to find methods that will change our thinking on the subconscious level of our mind. – Bruce Lipton

How does QEC work?

A typical QEC session starts with a conversation in which the client describes the subject or difficulty he or she would like to work on. Then, with the careful and gentle support of the QEC practitioner, the client creates new, positive, supportive beliefs that will be “installed” in his or her subconscious mind. In the next stage, we move on to the QEC method, which is a combination of powerful techniques designed to work with the subconscious. We create a gamma frequency that allows the brain’s neuroplasticity to “reprogram” itself – freeing us from the limitations of our past.

By using the QEC method, we are able to regain balance in our autonomic nervous system and change belief systems and conditions that no longer serve us. In this way, we can fundamentally change the way we think about ourselves and the world around us, releasing stored trauma and stress from our minds and bodies.
